If your firm provides a newly regulated designated service, enrolling with AUSTRAC is one of the first practical steps. This guide walks through confirming your obligation and completing enrolment. It is general information, not legal or compliance advice.

2 Apply to enrol with AUSTRAC For firms already providing a designated service on 1 July, 29 July 2026 has passed; later starters generally have 28 days, subject to designated-service, Australian geographical-link and class-specific transition rules.

For a firm already providing a designated service on 1 July 2026, the transitional application deadline of 29 July 2026 has passed. If your firm started providing a designated service later, AUSTRAC says to apply within 28 days after starting, subject to the designated-service, Australian geographical-link and applicable transitional rules. Confirm your firm's current position and timing with AUSTRAC. Enrolment is a regulatory step your firm completes directly with AUSTRAC.
